Scott Hirons has served the Stafford community in a variety of ways. Scott was elected to the Stafford County School Board in 2013 and served a four year term. Prior to his service on the School Board he was an appointed member of the Stafford County Planning Commission, on which he served as the Planning Commission representative to the Architecture Review Board and the the Parks and Recreation Commission.
During his service on the School Board Hirons served several terms as the Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee and the School Board liaison to the Fine Arts Advisory Committee.
Scott led efforts to improve the school divisions financial situation, to include advocating for improved staff compensation and improving license staff recruitment and retention. During his service Stafford County went from last in the region in new teacher starting salary to the top in the region. Scott also led efforts to improve transparency with the division budget and finances. Prior to his service the division was challenged with a number of financial issues. Scott ensured issues were fixed and transparency was brought to the division.
Since his service on the School Board, Scott has continued to serve the community. He has continued to serve as a youth baseball coach with the Stafford Baseball League. He and his wife have been active leaders with the Stafford High School PTSO.
Scott lives with his wife and three children in the Leeland Station community of the Falmouth District. He is a professional project manager supporting government organizations as a federal government contractor.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration for George Mason University and a M.B.A. from the University of Maryland University Collège.
